There are a few new pills which are made with progestin derivatives and contain no or less androgens and will not promote androgenic alopecia /female hair loss related to hormones / . Women who are generally susceptible for hair loss or are sensitive to hormone changes, are more prone for hair loss during and after the pill therapy. Those new medications are: Nestorone, Nomegestrol Acetate, Desogestrel. They are not expected to cause androgenic effect such as a hair loss.
